Quantifying the Global Shift Toward Dovish Policy

Welcome to “The Cyborg Analyst” by Prattle. This report provides weekly, quantitative insights on G-10 currency central banks.

The Most Important Central Bank Releases This Week

With trade wars and political turmoil keeping markets on edge, central bankers have elected to be fairly quiet this week. ECB policymakers will work to clarify their increasingly dovish forward guidance, while BOE policymakers will continue their attempts to assure markets of their preparedness to combat the adverse effects of Brexit. RBA policymakers will likely signal that they are open to further rate cuts in the medium term but will keep policy on hold for a bit after last week’s cut. The only policy meeting this week comes from the SNB, where policymakers will almost certainly hold rates but sound dovish as they look to further stimulus on the horizon.
