The Most Important Central Bank Releases This Week

Summer is officially over. After weeks of near silence from the world’s most important central banks, this week has four policy meetings and more than a dozen speeches with market-moving potential. The ECB, RBA, BOC, and Riksbank are all likely to hold rates this week, though futures price action has cast some doubt on the BOC’s policy plans. The Fed also has an active week with eight scheduled speakers, the most important of which will be Brainard and Dudley. If Fed policymakers don’t clarify their plans for balance sheet unwinding this week, it will likely be very difficult for them to initiate the policy at their September 20 meeting. The BOE is also slated to release its Agents’ Summary of Business Conditions, which may read less positive than comparable summaries from earlier this year.

This is an abbreviated version of the Cyborg Analyst. The full weekly report contains detailed analysis based on Prattle’s central bank data. Subscribe here.
