The Most Important Central Bank Releases This Week
central bank communications analytics research

After some turmoil surrounding the four policy meetings last week—especially the ECB meeting—this week promises to be more focused on two key meetings from the Bank of England and the Swiss National Bank. Both banks are likely to hold rates and err on the side of hawkishness, which may have significant implications for their respective currencies. ECB policymakers will also use speeches this week to clarify the contradictions between last week’s policy statement and Mario Draghi’s remarks. These speeches could begin to signal a firmer tapering timeline. Overall, this week promises to provide clarity from some of the most significant, and, lately, contradictory central banks.
