The Most Important Central Bank Releases This Week
central bank communications analytics research

Although this week’s G10 currency central bank schedule may seem light on first glance, it still contains extremely important releases that are not to be overlooked. The BOJ, BOC and Riksbank are all holding policy meetings, and the Chairman of the SNB is also scheduled to speak. The BOJ, which is likely to sound the most dovish of the three banks holding policy meetings, is likely to hold rates and simply indicate willingness to engage in stimulus. The BOC is likely to strike a more neutral tone and dodge any indication of a timeline for future rate hikes, since projections are increasingly indicating that the next hike may not happen until 2020. Riksbank policymakers are likely to strike the most hawkish tone and signal their intention to hike rates later this year while remaining in a holding pattern for the time being. As for SNB Chairman Jordan, he is likely to sound somewhat dovish, signalling willingness to engage in stimulus if necessary.
